Glad you got the paper TLFC OK, and I'm really pleased to hear you've done a write up of the day from your no doubt more frantic perspective! I shall have a look at it after tea I think.

Lovely post, thanks (I also love the pie there, although I'm more into mushy peas than beetroot - in fact I think it may be Victoria Baths where I had mushy peas for the first time ever, and now they're a firm favourite!).

Thanks also for sending TLFC in the post.

My write-up of the day, including links to the PDF of the VB zine, is now online!

Agreed, and hopefully not executed by Jeremy Clarkson! Clarkson is of course a near neighbour of David Cameron so the cynical part of me is wondering if someone in the Conservative Party put him up to it. Though I gather he also has a book to promote and, after all, it worked for Russell Brand with his book.

Having said that, I bet his pension/wages are out of sight higher than mine, and he was basically pandering to the desire for people to kick the person next to them when times are hard because they think that person might conceivably be doing slightly better than them, as oppose to kicking the people in charge who are definitely doing better than them but tend to have better lawyers....

The impression we got was that we'd probably be striking again, but I don't know anyone who did strike who was unwilling to do so again.

It was amusing that those of us in our thirties and twenties are the young 'uns so far as unions are concerned...
